The Roomba is something that I have wanted. I instead got a Dyson cleaner, however; I still want a Roomba. This is a great option to work in between regular vacuuming.
The Roomba isn’t as effective at cleaning power. It is okay though and hands free, so you can go away and come back and your home be swept more than it would have been without it. It lacks in corners and on edges more than the center, so the center will get basic cleaning.
The Roomba requires time more than anything. It required 25 minutes in the Comsumer Reports test of an 8×8 foot area. That is compared to the 3 minutes with a cheap vacuum.
The Roomba works best if you get obstacles out of the way prior to it’s use. To begin: It is going to spin in circles til it finds the wall and then it will weave it’s way across the room until it is done. The Roomba has sensors, so it will not fall down stairs. It has been known to occasionally get caught in a rug though.
