…is that, in the USA, it is more often than not, harmful because most of the time it is laced with fluoride. Fluoride is a toxic industrial waste. As one commenter noted, the US public has been made to believe that fluoride is good…well I wanted to put some more resources here for us all to get re-educated (photos & citations)

The Fluoride Deception This is a very illuminating video. (30 min)
~*~

From the map we can see that Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, Montana and perhaps New Jersey are the only states where less than 25% of the tap water is fluoridated.. Fluoride is poison and is NOT healthy for human consumption. More than not healthy, fluoride is harmful!

The most convenient and immediate way to provide pure water for you and your household to consume is to treat your tap water with distillation or reverse osmosis. Osmosis is the movement of water across a membrane. Water naturally moves from the area of high solute concentration to the area of low solute concentration. So, for example in a container partitioned by a semi-permeable (only permeable to water) membrane into two parts, with salty water on one side and water free of dissolved solutes on the other, water will move, naturally, toward the side with the most solutes. It is as if the water is trying to make the concentration on both sides of the membrane equal to each other. Reverse osmosis is the process by which water moves in the opposite direction of the osmotic gradient.

American Dental Association (.pdf) admits that flouride is harmful to the development of teeth (So, I say, don’t buy fluoridated baby bottled water. Don’t reconstitute baby formula with fluoridated tap water.)

Fluoride is used in rat poison to kill them

Fluoride is linked to other heavy metal toxins that found in drinking water [such as] lead, arsenic, aluminum and cadmium (Dartmouth News)

Tooth decay is prevented through good nutrition and oral hygiene

Ninety percent of the fluoride we use to fluoridate U.S. water systems comes directly from the pollution scrubbing systems of the phosphate fertilizer industry. Recently, there has been some concern among clean water activists about the purity of this industrial grade fluoride, known as hydrofluosilicic acid. As investigative journalist George Glasser has pointed out, this hydrofluosilicic acid contains trace amounts of numerous heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and arsenic. (Fluoride Action Network)

Brita filters out particulate matter, not fluoride. This is what you can do now. Learn about what distillation is here. That list of naturally occurring components of coffee can be found at Dr Duke’s Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Databases Organic coffee has all of that (above) but doesn’t have any of the additional chemicals associated with non-organic farming and processing of regular and of decaffeinated coffee.

So “cui bono” when your cuppa joe is tainted with stuff that can, over time, challenge your body to the point of illness? Who needs that?

Now I know coffee can be addicting. A friend of mine simply must start her day with a cup of espresso. Without it she gets terrible headaches…

For those who drink decaffeinated coffee, please note that only the “Swiss process” uses strictly water as the chemical solvent t extract the caffeine. Other processes of decaffeination use other solvents are actually toxic! So drinking decaffeinated coffee, has less caffeine (NOT ZERO caffeine!) and a lot more less than healthful chemicals thrown in to boot.

In order to extract caffeine the coffee is soaked in a solvent. The solvents, except for water, are not beneficial to health and invariably traces of the solve remain on the coffee.

Here are the solvents that are often used to extract caffeine commercially: trichlorethylene central nervous system depressant, carcinogen) , methylene chloride (less toxic, metabolized into carbon monoxide n the body), ethyl acetate.

So if you enjoy coffee or you just have to have it, for any reason, why make yours organic! Your body will love you for it!

His teeth DO look pretty white! Don’t you think? It’s also true that chlorine bleach is toxic…but when has that stopped us from using it?

In the USA most municipal tap water comes form water treated with chlorine, most swimming pools are filled with chlorinated water and we use chlorine bleach on clothing and to disinfect household surfaces. So we are obviously already dousing ourselves with it!

The chlorine bleach treatment is definitely unconventional however it seems to be working for the man in the video. What has he got to gain from telling us a fib? Like he said he’s not selling us anything. He’s not making any money from this at all.Now if you are not keen on the unconventional but brushing your teeth with fluoridated toothpaste just doesn’t seem to be making a dramatic impact why not consider a professional whitening treatment.

I’m not speaking of one from your regular dentist…There is nothing like bright white teeth to show off a dazzling smile. In fact, some might argue that it’s the whiteness of the teeth that make a great smile spectacular. Whether for an event like a wedding, job interview or you just want to improve your looks with whiter teeth and a more beautiful smile, professional teeth whitening is the solution for you.

With locations across the USA –Atlanta, Beverly Hills, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Irvine, La Jolla, New York, Palo Alto, Phoenix, McLean, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Schamburg—Brite Smile has the look and feel of a day spa crossed with a dental office.BriteSmile uses a the latest tooth whitening technology in cosmetic dentistry.

Some people like to cook and some people don’t. Some people have the means to cook and some people don’t. A crockpot is a way to cook that doesn’t require too much in the way of culinary talent nor a bunch of fancy equipment. All you need is a crockpot, a source of electricity to plug it in and some ingredients. Here’s an interesting source for crockpot recipes I found while Stumbling today.

Slow cookers are a wonderful way to have a nicely cooked hot meal at the end of the day, without having to spend any of the day in the kitchen slaving over the pots and pans. (You could be slaving over the computer instead writing for your blog or outside puttering around in your garden or whatever! Heck, you could almost take a nap…as long as you have an alarm clock)

The slow simmering allows the full development and appreciation of the many nuanced flavor. Personally I haven’t used any thing but a crockpot for at least 3 years! I have two of them, in fact. And although I don ‘t use recipes anymore at least there are plenty of recipes available at least as points of reference. Here is a nice resource for those of us who like to use a recipe, at least as a starting point.

Now these ceramic pots which sit inside a metal sleeve or cooking can be removed for easy cleaning and for use on top of the stove or in the oven however there is absolutely no need to use a stove at all for this.

Funny thing about looking good. Sometimes it’s about looking our best, and sometimes it’s looking like we want to look…darker skin, lighter skin, eyes closer together, eyes farther apart, narrower nose, more prominent cheekbone, fuller lips, stronger chin, longer lashes, tamer brows…Improvements in appearance can be semi-permanent or temporary.

Surgery might seem permanent but it’s not because we are not plastic. We are made up of living cells that have a life time. It is estimated that every 7 year there is not a single living cell in your body that was there 7 years earlier! (Different types of cells have different life-spans, naturally.)

Given that cells are constantly regenerating and dying, things tend to shift a bit and then of course with the continued exposure to an abusive environment and/or an abusive diet things can and do go from “perfect” to “not-quite-so-perfect-anymore.”So instead of spending thousands for cosmetic surgery, why not just learn a few cosmetic tricks to enhance your use of make up for a stunning face. You probably have make up right now at home that you could start educating ourself with.

Obviously make up isn’t permanent but that’s a blessing really because you can enjoy different looks for different occasions and different purposes. Just like a hair style doesn’t have to be permanent, you don’t have to dress in a uniform…you can have fun, be artistic or trendy or not with your “look”.

The great thing is that is not permanent, because wouldn’t it be just too sad to have a face that looked like yesteryear with brows that were permanently just too heavy or too thin for todays beauty trends. Even celebrities aren’t glamorous off the job.

If you want to look your best then clean up what you put in your mouth and what you surround yourself with. Clean food, a clean environment, clean water and daily motion, fresh air and sunshine will go a long way to make your unique beauty some shining through. Make-up is an adjunct, not a substitute. Although sometimes it can really seem to work welcomed miracles, not just enhancing our looks but completely changing our appearance. you saw those cells, on camera and caught off camera. What a difference a make-up job can make! Heck, and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to get “the Look”.
