That list of naturally occurring components of coffee can be found at Dr Duke’s Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Databases Organic coffee has all of that (above) but doesn’t have any of the additional chemicals associated with non-organic farming and processing of regular and of decaffeinated coffee.
So “cui bono” when your cuppa joe is tainted with stuff that can, over time, challenge your body to the point of illness? Who needs that?
Now I know coffee can be addicting. A friend of mine simply must start her day with a cup of espresso. Without it she gets terrible headaches…
For those who drink decaffeinated coffee, please note that only the “Swiss process” uses strictly water as the chemical solvent t extract the caffeine. Other processes of decaffeination use other solvents are actually toxic! So drinking decaffeinated coffee, has less caffeine (NOT ZERO caffeine!) and a lot more less than healthful chemicals thrown in to boot.
In order to extract caffeine the coffee is soaked in a solvent. The solvents, except for water, are not beneficial to health and invariably traces of the solve remain on the coffee.
Here are the solvents that are often used to extract caffeine commercially: trichlorethylene central nervous system depressant, carcinogen) , methylene chloride (less toxic, metabolized into carbon monoxide n the body), ethyl acetate.
So if you enjoy coffee or you just have to have it, for any reason, why make yours organic! Your body will love you for it!

The Truth About Wine…

You can learn more about wines by reading and also by taking opportunities to taste and make mental notes as to what you like and what it tastes good with.
Buy what you like and give that as a gift. to name a few. And then of course wine is also purchased for household consumption and special occasions such as weddings and dinner parties.
The best way to buy wine is from the vintnor at a wine tasting. That way you can actually taste what you are buying and get a very real education about where it is produced and who is producing it under what conditions. It will make the future enjoyment of the wine that much more pleasurable. when you have that connection with the source.
The next best way to buy wine is to buy what you already know and to buy it from sources that are convenient such as mail order or when you go out for your regularly grocery shopping.
Wine can be purchased by the single bottle, by the case, or by the collection. A collection simply means that you can buy an assortment of bottles as one line item. This in fact is a great way to get familiar with a variety of different types of wine and then to re order a case of this or that to keep on hand to gift to others as appropriate and/or to keep at home for domestic use.
