The Truth About Indoor Air Filters…

According to Wikepedia a HEPA Air filter “can remove at least 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 micrometres (µm) in diameter. Particles of this size are the most difficult to filter and thus the most penetrating particle size (MPPS). Particles that are larger or smaller are filtered with even higher efficiency.” So this is the perfect type of filter to virtually rid the air smoke and airborne particulate allergens, e.g. pollen, dander and dust.

What I like about this QUIETECH 99.97% HEPA Air Cleaner is the fact that you don’t have to buy filters. This is best used in a room that measures 232 sq ft or less. To find out the square footage of the room it is to e used in just measure the length of the room in terms of feet and multiply that by the width of the room. So if you have one of these in a bedroom that is 15′x15′ or smaller you’re in good shape particularly if you can close the room door.

You can pick up HEPA filters from any “big box” store in your area or you can order from Bionaire.com and shop directly from the manufacturer. It doesn’t really matter. It’s just a question of what’s convenient for you. Make sure to pay attention to the maximum square footage covered by  any particular model you choose to get. Remember all HEPA filters have the same effectiveness as far as how much they filter out of the air, doesn’t matter who manufactures it.

I’d say in a home where one is concerned with air quality it would be good to have a couple HEPA air filters to put in the airas where you or your loved once spend most of their time. I don’t know about you but I spend about a thir od my life in my bedroom sleeping so that’d be an ideal place for me to have one and since I work at home th other obvious place for me would be my sofice which unfortunately doe not close off form the rest of he house with a door. So although less effective in spaces greater than 232 sq ft it’s still goin g to be a huge improvement and might jus tmean more frequent cleaning of the filter.
