The truth is one more magnet for the car is just less money to put food on the table and get out of debt. The troops don’t need a yellow ribbon. However they do need material assistance, whether at home or abroad.
Yes, I would give up money and/or material to directly provide comfort, protection or safty to any one of our men and women, boys and girls who have been removed from civilian life.
By becoming a volunteer at Books for Soldiers you will be able to send troops books, DVDs, games and relief supplies. But you don’t have to have a lot of extra money to participate. You can volunteer to keep in touch with individual or anonymous troops in the Pen Pal area and the Post Card Jamboree. On average volunteers fill over 1000 requests a month. You can also donate money or buy novelty items in their store. As you might imagine military personnel that know of the program and want to participate are not not buying this merchandise themselves. And as you might imagine the demand may indeed be greater than the supply. Donations are used to fulfill individual military personal requests that are not met by people who register on the site and simply send individual care packages on their own.
